Dai Jiamiao, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, Director of the Calligraphy Department, China Academy of Art. Dai is also a member of the Academic Committee of the China Calligraphers Association, the Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Province Calligraphers Association, and the Vice Chairman of the Wenzhou Youth Federation in Hangzhou. He has been nominated for the Influential Figure Award at the World Wenzhounese Conference.
His publications include research on classic calligraphy inscriptions such as Mei Sou's Inscriptions and Postscripts and Apex: The Calligraphy of the Literati in the Song Dynasty. Dai has also edited several important collections, including Representative Calligraphers of the Haipai School: Shen Zengzhi Volume, Legacy Works of Shen Zengzhi, Letters by Zhao Zhiqian from the Collection of the Shanghai Library, Manuscripts by Zhao Zhiqian: Zhang'an Essays from the Collection of the National Library of China, and Wu Rangzhi's Painting, Calligraphy and Seal Carving Studies. Additionally, he has meticulously compiled and annotated works including The Collected Works of Zhao Zhiqian (a project financially supported by the National Ancient Books Catalog Project), Annotated Catalog of Calligraphy and Painting, and Tai Xue Tong (100 volumes), with The Collected Works of Zhao Zhiqian winning the First Prize in the National Excellent Ancient Books Awards in 2016.
Dai led the research project titled "Understanding and Writing Seal Script: Shuowen Jiezi Research and the Development of Seal Script in the Tang, Song, and Yuan Dynasties," which was funded by the National Social Science Fund of China. He completed the compilation of the Complete Collection of Chinese Seal Carvings, another project supported by the National Social Science Fund of China. Additionally, Dai participated in the major national research project on "The Autonomous System of Chinese Art History" and also led key projects under the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Research Project, including the Zhejiang Calligraphy Series: Qing Dynasty Volume, the Research Compilation of Zhejiang Seal Studies: Seal Theory Volume, and the Organization and Research of Seals in the Series of Chinese Historical Paintings: Qing Dynasty Volume.
