He Yanchiuan

Researcher and Section Chief, Department of Painting, Calligraphy, Rare Books and Historical Documents, National Palace Museum

Born in Taipei, 1974, He Yanchiuan earns an M.A. in Art History from National Taiwan University, and a Ph.D. in History of Art & Architecture from Boston University. Continuously focusing on the calligraphy works in the National Palace Museum collection, He studies the material culture of calligraphy, and attempts to reconsider calligraphy history from different perspectives. He published How Beautiful the Calligraphy Is: Treasure of Calligraphy for a Thousand and Six Hundred Years in 2023.
