The “Hengshan Calligraphy Award” is the first award in Taiwan dedicated to competitive exhibitions in the field of calligraphy art. It aims to encourage calligraphy exhibitions and artistic practices that embody the spirit of the times and demonstrate pioneering perspectives in themes, forms, and content. In its inaugural edition, the award received 44 exhibition submissions, from which 7 were shortlisted. After intense deliberation by the jury, 1 recipient of the Hengshan Calligraphy Award and 2 Merit Award winners were selected. The inaugural Hengshan Calligraphy Award was awarded to the exhibition: “Time's Shifting Without Era Disease: Post-Calligraphy by Ko Liang-Chih”, which received a NTD 250,000 cash prize. Two exhibitions received the Merit Award, each with a NTD 100,000 cash prize: “Number Concept: Chiang Po-Hsuan Calligraphy Art Creation” “‘En Route to the Classics’ – A Calligraphy Exhibition: Tradition and Innovation” In addition to the cash prize, the winner of the Hengshan Calligraphy Award will also be invited to hold a solo exhibition at the Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center.
